About Pam Butterfield, who specializes working with CEOs and their teams to ensure their companies grow to their fullest potential.
Pam founded Business Success Tools in 2001 to offer small-sized organizations the kinds of growth and development opportunities that enable large corporations to gain a competitive edge. Since its inception, Pam’s company works with families, business owners, CEOs and organizational leaders to identify and eliminate barriers that impede business growth and performance.
When it comes to succession and transition planning, Pam works with families, business owners and company leaders on the ‘people’ part of the planning equation. If a company relies on certain key individuals, and these individuals leave, the company loses value. Without a plan in place that removes the guesswork of “will my successors succeed? will my organization survive without me or my key people?”, a business owner is playing with their company’s value and continued viability.
Pam’s firm builds business excellence through a combination of consulting techniques to resolve company issues, coaching techniques to support individual performance and development, facilitation techniques to improve how teams of people work together and make decisions and training to increase individual skills and knowledge.
Prior to founding Business Success Tools in 2001, Pam was Senior Principal of an international consulting firm – specialized in making their clients #1 or #2 in their industry sectors. She was responsible for analyzing emerging trends in the training/human development/knowledge management industry, as well as the financial and technology sectors. She designed and delivered profitable training and consulting programs to take strategic advantage of changes in these sectors. She assembled high functioning teams to design new products and services and deliver them to market.
Pam began her career as a systems analyst, information engineer and process engineer for The Travelers Companies and designed and developed investment and financial systems for the TIC.
In 2004, Pam was recognized for her outstanding business acumen and her significant contributions to the business community. She was named Connecticut’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners in Connecticut. In addition, she was a founder of Glastonbury Chamber’s Business Institute, which received a Silver Quality Award from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership, Inc.
In 2016, Pam’s firm, Business Success Tools LLC was named the Hartford Business Journal’s “Best of Business” in the category of Executive Coaching.
Pam holds an undergraduate degree in Education (focus on adult learning) from the University of Connecticut. Her graduate work was done at Georgetown University, specializing in Change Management and Organization Development. She is a certified graduate of Coach University, Inc. (CUCG). Pam holds four special designations: CPBA (Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst), CPVA (Certified Professional Values Analyst), and CPTA (Certified Professional TriMetrix Analyst), and Certified Strategic Business Growth Specialist.
