At Business Success Tools LLC, we provide a strategic planning process that helps companies move forward in their development. Our process involves four steps:

    1. Diagnosing the current state of your business.  See company performance assessment for details.
    2. Identifying where you want to be in one to two years.
    3. Determining the gaps that lie between the current and desired states.
    4. Creating a change plan (roadmap) for closing the gap between today and tomorrow.

Our diagnostic efforts are particularly wide-ranging. We not only look at key business functions such as Operations, Marketing/Sales, and Human Resources, we also assess intangible factors such as organizational culture, the external environment, leadership, organizational structure, and management practices.

For smaller firms, we assess mainly through interviews with business owners and leaders, key managers and employees, and customers. For large companies, we use the more formal “Business Performance Assessment Tool”.

The end point of our engagement is a plan for closing the gaps between where a company is today and where it wants to go tomorrow.

But unlike many consulting firms, we don’t abandon you at this point. In some cases, we’ll refer you to other specialists in our alliance network to address functional problems beyond our ability to solve (for example: accounting, finance, or IT).

In other cases, however, we’ll help you close the gaps, either through facilitation that help teams operate more effectively or leadership and communications coaching to help business leaders stay focused on the plan. This is particularly important in privately held firms, where the business is often indistinguishable from the business owner.

Finally, we may provide skill-development opportunities to help managers with key aspects of their jobs.
